Homerton

A small back garden made for a poet and a musician filled with plants that evoke the South African background of its owners, including Agapanthus, Kniphofias and day lilies. A line of pleached hornbeam trees was introduced to screen them from a new housing development to the west. Granite setts were chosen for the terraces to give an immediately worn texture to the space.
